Ingredients

    1 c Apples, chopped
    1 1/2 T brown sugar
    1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp nutmeg, ground (fresh ground is preferred!)
    1/2 tsp ginger, ground
    1 sheet puff pastry
    1 egg (for egg wash)

Directions

Preheat oven according to puff pastry box directions (mine was 400 degrees).

Chop apples into small pieces and place in mixing bowl. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Stir to combine and set aside.

Be sure your puff pastry is thawed and unfold the sheet. Pinch together the creases to make even. Cut sheet into quarters. Spoon about 1/4c of the apple filling onto one puff pastry square near one corner. Fold pastry in half to make a triangle. Fold edges up to close then press a fork along the folded edges to make a cute design and reseal. Repeat for the other three puff pastry squares.

Place turnovers onto a baking sheet. Beat egg and brush turnovers lightly with egg wash (there will be plenty of remaining egg).

Bake for about 15 minutes or until turnovers are puffed, golden brown, and crispy. Let cool at least 10 minutes as the inside will be very hot! Serve with ice cream or just by itself! Enjoy!
