This recipe is a family tradition. It's hearty and filling. If you are unable to find red lentils yellow lentils can be substituted. Ingredients

    2 cups of red lentils
    1 celery stalk chopped
    1-2 carrots chopped or shredded
    1 packet of ham bouillon
    1 clove of garlic finely chopped
    1 medium onion chopped
    7 cups of water

Directions

Combine all ingredients in the crock pot. Cook on low for 8 hours.
