Introduction

I got this recipe from www.tarladalal.com - there are loads of tasty dishes there - I just wanted to put it into my tracker on SP! Indian dahl dish- makes seven portions of 2 ladles per portion. Im going to freeze this and use it for lunches. Ingredients

    1 cup of urad ( whole black lentils - soaked overnight)
    2 tbsp kidney beans( soaked overnight)
    2 cups of low fat milk
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 cup finely chopped onions
    2 tsps ginger-garlic paste
    2 tsps chilli powder
    4 tbsp coriander powder
    3 cups tomoto pulp
    2 tsps sunflower oil
    1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Directions

This makes 7 portions - two ladles per portion
Soak the lentils and beans overnight

Pressure cook these for ten minutes until they are over done. Then whisk them until they are slightly creamy and mashed.

Put oil in a pan and fry cumin seeds until they begin to crackle. Then add onions and paste and saute until golden brown.

Add tomatoes and spices with half a cup of water and then simmer for ten minutes.

Add dahl and simmer until thick and creamy. Mix in the chopped coriander to garnish.
