Ingredients

    400g Strawberries
    1T Sugar
    16 Trifle sponges (2 boxes of 8)
    1 Can low fat custard
    2-5T Espresso (Strong instant coffee works well)
    1 packet Angel Delight, reconstituted with skim milk

Directions

Wash, hull and slice strawberries. Sprinkle with sugar and set aside.

Slice each trifle sponge lengthwise (think of it like slicing open a bagel or bun). Lay one layer of sponge in the dish - if possible, arrange the sponge so that each layer consists of 8 sponges (4 'original' sponges; 8 halved sponges).

Sprinkle sponge with coffee, then top with strawberries. Gently layer on 1/3 of the can of custard. Repeat. Final layer should be topped with Angel Delight rather than custard.

Keep refrigerated.
