Introduction
These are a holiday TREAT that we only make once a year. They are from one of my Mothers old Military Wives cookbooks. These are a holiday TREAT that we only make once a year. They are from one of my Mothers old Military Wives cookbooks.Number of Servings: 85
Ingredients
-
Peanut Butter, smooth style, 1.5 cup
Butter, unsalted, .5 cup
Powdered Sugar, 1 lb or about 3.5 cups
Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp
Almond Bark Chocolate Candy coating, I package
Directions
Mix Peanut Butter and room temp butter, vanilla and sugar. Shape into balls the a little smaller than the size of a large marbles to get about 85 balls. Chill in the refrigerator while you melt the chocolate coating. If you choose to use chocolate chips it will take 1-16 oz package of chocolate chips and two tsp of vegetable shortening. Either one you use you will melt the chocolate either in the microwave or in a double boiler. When melted you will drop the balls into the chocolate and then set on foil or waxed paper to set. They store well in the fridge or freezer.
Enjoy these occasional treats for the holidays!
One thought I had this year was that I should try a batch with Smart Balance Light to see if they will turn out as well. You may try this and see how many calories you can save. Maybe even a dark chocolate? Hmm. I never thought to change the tradition, LOL. Happy Holidays!
