Introduction
This fudge is super quick and easy, it can be made with any flavor combination you choose (chocolate mint, peanut butter, anything) but this is my favorite. The chocolate melts best in a double boiler but can be melted in the microwave if needed. Ingredients
-
18 oz Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (about 2.5 cups or a bag and a half)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp orange zest (I use dried)
1/2 tsp orange extract
Directions
Add water to the main dish of a double boiler and add insert. Make sure insert is totally 100% dry, the tiniest bit of moisture will ruin the chocolate. Heat double boiler over medium to medium high heat. (If you don't have a double boiler you can skip this part and prepare fudge in the microwave in a microwave safe dish.)
When the insert is dry and warm dump in all ingredients and stir constantly until chips are melted, 4 or 5 minutes. Pour into a 9x6 dish and let cool. (If you don't have a 9x6 dish you can use any small dish, I've used bread pans, bunt pans and square tupperware dishes)
Serving Size: Makes 28 VERY generous pieces

I entered this fudge in a county fair and got the highest placement out of everyone competing in the candy category! I think the fudge is good, but you have to like dark chocolate. Milk chocolate lovers will think this is okay. It truly is seriously easy to make, and I love the orange flavor. - 8/10/12
