Introduction

This is a great way to nix a craving for Japanese food when you don't have a good sushi place around or you don't feel like shelling out for some rolls. Add some sashimi grade tuna and wasabi paste too for a great zing! Ingredients

    3 cups peeled and finely shredded daikon
    1/2 cup finely shredded carrots
    1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
    7 oz peeled and cooked small shrimp
    1/4 cup rice vinegar
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    2 tsp tamari
    Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
    Pickled ginger, for garnish (optional)

Directions

Toss radish, carrot and salt together in large bowl. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Rinse and squeeze dry.
Toss grated mixture with shrimp.
Combine vinegar, sugar and tamari.
Pour over salad, and toss well.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and ginger.
