Tomato based clam chowder Tomato based clam chowder
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 large Carrot, raw, cut into bite size
    1 stalk, large (11"-12" long) Celery, raw
    3 strips of Bacon
    2 medium Potatoes, with skin cut to bite size
    1 large clove of garlic, chopped
    1 section green pepper, chopped
    1 can Diced Tomatoes (in Tomato juice)
    5.5 fl oz Tomato juice, with salt added
    1 cup Tomato Sauce, Hunts Sauce
    2 cans Chopped Clams
    Tomato juice ( individual can)
    Bay leaf
    Several sprigs of Thyme
    water to make 2 1/2 quarts soup
    Salt and pepper to taste


Directions

Brown bacon, add veggies, add remainder ingredients and simmer until veggies are soft
