My husband was craving chicken sauce for pasta. Here's what I came up with. My husband was craving chicken sauce for pasta. Here's what I came up with.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
    1 jar tomato basil spaghetti sauce
    2 15-oz cans diced tomatoes
    1 Tbsp dried basil
    1 tsp dried oregano
    3 cloves garlic

Directions

Place all ingredients into crock. Cook on LOW 6-8 hours. Remove chicken from crock and shred. Return chicken to pot. Makes 16 1/2-cup servings. Serve over whole wheat pasta.

    This was great! My husband and I loved it,so easy too! I just used no salt tomatoe sauce instead of the spaghetti sauce and added my own spices. - 8/14/09

    Not sure if the rating on this recipe is a mistake. I found it watery and it didn't stick to the pasta like sauce should. It didn't taste horrible but certainly doesn't warrant the 5 star rating! - 2/27/13

    This is an excellent alternative to a HEAVY ground beef pasta sauce. My husband likes it even though he's the pasta king at our house...& makes his own sauce. This is a definite do-over!!! - 9/29/11
