Introduction

This is a very simple marinara sauce with chicken added. It can be added to in anyway you want! I made this one night with what I found in my cupboards! Ingredients

    1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
    1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
    1 8 oz can tomato sauce
    1 tbsp olive oil
    3/4 cup chopped onion
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tbsp dried oregano
    1 tbsp basil
    1 tsp sugar
    2 chicken breasts, cut into strips or use 8 chicken tenders

Directions

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium low heat. Add the onions and cook until tender but not brown. Add the garlic, oregano, and basil. Cook for a minute more. Add the canned tomatoes. Stir. Add additional spices/herbs if necessary. Bring to a light bubble (not a full boil) and add the chicken. Continue to simmer until the chicken is cooked through. Add the sugar if the sauce tastes too acidic.

Cook up your favorite pasta and serve!! Makes 6 servings. Calculations are for sauce only.
