Introduction

You can add salt near the end if you like. I didn't feel the need but my family did. Guess I've kind of desalinated.
We like it with rice and veggies on the side.

Ingredients

    3 lb. beef chuck roast
6 cloves garlic, chopped or pressed
    3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
5 large Basil leaves, torn into tiny bits
4 Tbsp. Oregano, ground or finely chopped (if fresh)
    3 Tbsp. dried onion flakes

Directions

Place roast, chopped garlic, olive oil and basil into a gallon size ziploc bag. Make sure the mixture is rubbed all over the roast and marinate at least a couple of hours- overnight is better. Sear roast in skillet or on griddle until all sides are just brown. Place roast and marinade in slow cooker with remaining ingredients and enough water to just cover the meat. Turn on low for about 5 hours or until falling apart. Makes about 6 servings.
