Ingredients

    1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    7 cups watewr
    1 - 14 oz. can no-salt added tomatoes, undrained, chopped
    1/2 cup Quaker Barley
    1/2 cup sliced celery
    1/2 cup sliced carrots
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 bay leaf
    1 9 ounce pkg. frozen mixed vegetables

Directions

Brown ground beef. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is tender, drain. Add remaining ingreadients except frozen vegetables. Cover, bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 50 min., stirring occasionally. Add frozen veges; cook 10 min. until veges are tender. You can add water if it is too thick.
