Great for cold days with a salad and piece of crusty bread. Great for cold days with a salad and piece of crusty bread.
Number of Servings: 12


    12 cups tap water
    3 tablespoons chicken base
    24 oz chicken (1.5 lb)
    2 cup chopped carrots
    1 cup chopped celery
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1/2 of a lb box of whole grain rotini
    1 lb bag frozen, chopped broccoli
    2 heaping tablespoons white flour


Bring water and chicken base to a boil.
Add chicken, carrots, celery and oinions,
cooking until tender. Remove the chicken from the broth. Add rotini and cook until almost desired tenderness. Add frozen broccoli. Meantime, cut chicken into cubes. Return chicken to pot. When at a full rolling boil, add flour that has been shaken in a container with a cup of water - this will thicken your soup - it can be omitted if you prefer. Salt and pepper in layers as you cook to taste.
