Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 lb of GROUND chuck or other ground beef of your choice.
    1 large onion, chopped
1 cup quick oats, or any other oats not used for horse feed.
1 large egg, to hold the mess together.
    Salt and pepper.

Option: Ketchup (not included in calories)

Directions

This will make about 8 servings if cut into 1.5 inch slices, it depends on how "tall" you make your loaf. Shape affects cooking time as well.
In a large bowl mix beef, onion, oats, egg and spices until well combined.
In a roasting pan or casserole dish form a loaf-like shape out of the mixture (blob). Make sure your pan has enough room to allow the fat to drain away and not bubble over into your nice clean oven.
Cook at about 350 degrees F for 45 – 60 minutes or until an internal temperature of 170 degrees has been reached if you have a meat thermometer.

If you desire a caramelized ketchup glaze baked onto your meatloaf, squirt some on the top for the last 15 minutes of cooking.
