Introduction

A vinegar-based coleslaw that I am making with red cabbage. A vinegar-based coleslaw that I am making with red cabbage.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 small head of red cabbage, shredded fine
    2 cups cider vinegar
    1/2 cup plus 2 Tbs. ketchup
    1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar, or more to taste
    5 tsp. salt, or more to taste
    4 tsp. hot red pepper flakes
    1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    1 tsp. freshly ground white pepper

Directions

Makes 8 servings.

Shred cabbage. Mix all other ingredients together in a non-reactive bowl until sugar and salt dissolve. Mix with cabbage. Let sit 10 minutes. Taste for seasoning.
