Introduction

If you do not like bland, store bought applesauce, then this recipe is for you. It is easy to make, and modify to make it your own. Use whatever apples you like and vary the amount of cinnamon and sugar to fit your taste.

Ingredients

    10 medium Fuji Apples, peeled cored and diced
    2 Tbsp ground cinnamon (or less if desired)
    3 Tbsp pure cane sugar (or less if desired)
    1/8 C cold water

Directions

Place the diced apples and the water into a medium sized dutch oven and turn cook on high, stirring occasionally, until apples start to break down (about 5 minutes). Bring heat down to low, cover and simmer apples, stirring occasionally, on low until they start to soften more (about 30-40 minutes). Add the cinnamon and sugar and stir in well. Continue to simmer on low, uncovered, apples are the desired consistency. Mash if desired.
