Ingredients

1 lb fresh green beans, stemmed
1-2 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
    1 tsp canola oil
1-2 tsp asian chili oil or sesame oil
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds, white or black
    kosher salt
    Optional: dash red pepper flakes

Directions

Combine the oils, garlic and if using, chili flakes in a glass, microwave safe bowl. Microwave oil on high for 20 seconds. Stir and microwave for another 15 seconds watching closely so oil doesn't boil over. Set aside to cool for 15-20 minutes or longer if stronger garlic taste is desired.

Meanwhile wash, dry and stem green beans. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spread beans in a single layer on rimmed baking sheet. Remove garlic from oil and pour over beans . Toss to evenly coat. Roast in oven for 15-20 minutes are until beans are charred and tender. Remove from oven and drain on papers towels to remove any excess oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and coarse salt. Toss to coat. Serve immediately.
