Introduction

I love to make these ahead of time and keep them frozen for an easy breakfast or snack! I love to make these ahead of time and keep them frozen for an easy breakfast or snack!
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

1 Cup Sunny D of any flavor. Or 1 cup of orange juice.
1 Cup unsweetened frozen berries.I do not thaw the berries before using.
6-8 oz. of yogurt, any flavor.
    1 banana

This recipe is easy to customize by substitution any of the above ingredients. Just keep in mind the change it may cause in the nutrition values.

Directions

Blend yogurt, juice, and banana on low speed. Add frozen fruit, and blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend until the smoothie is at the texture that you prefer.

Makes three 8 oz. servings or two 12 oz. servings. Nutrition values are calculated on two servings.

If making ahead, freeze rather than refrigerate to prevent ingredients from separating. Remove from freezer before bed to have a smoothie ready to go at breakfast time! Would also make good popsicles at snack time or sorbet for desert!

I made this for myself and for my kids this morning. For the kids I did nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, banana, pear (their request), mixed berries, and oj. They loved it. For myself I did mixed berries, the same yogurt, oj, banana, and added a tbsp of ground flaxseed. Awesome! - 2/10/11

This looks great - love that it's "make ahead" as I've found that's the key to my staying on track each day.
Also looks like something my kids will love!
