Introduction
Great grilled flavor, very little oil Great grilled flavor, very little oilNumber of Servings: 2
Ingredients
-
* 12 spears prepared asparagus (trimmed cleaned)
* 2 teaspoons garlic infused olive oil or 2tsp oil and 3 cloves minced garlic
* water to cover the asparagus
Directions
Mix oil and garlic in warm water and place the asparagus in to soak ten to twenty minutes
Pull out asparagus spears and place on indoor grill (like Foreman). You can also use outdoor grill, or roast in the oven.
Grill until cooked to your liking.
Please note that the actual oil on the asparagus is not 1 teaspoon per serving. When mixed in the water, the oil ends up placing a light coating on each spear that enhances the flavor of the grilled asparagus without a lot of fat. If you like a little spice, add hot pepper flakes to the garlic and oil.
I use an infused oil that I make up each week - gently warm olive oil with several cloves minced garlic and hot pepper flakes. Turn off the heat before the garlic begins to brown and let sit an hour or so at room temperature. Keep in the refrigerator and use mixed with a bit of water to sautee vegetables, mix with raw tomatos to make a nice light pasta sauce, or spread on baguette and toast to make a nice garlic bread.
