Introduction

I called this lazy tofu because it has become one of my go-to dinners for those nights where you just don't WANT TO COOK! I called this lazy tofu because it has become one of my go-to dinners for those nights where you just don't WANT TO COOK!

Ingredients

Extra firm tofu - 175grams (approx. half a block)
    Lite soy sauce - 2tbsp
    Hoisin - 2 tbsp
    Scallion - 1 stalk
    Garlic - 2 cloves
    Honey - 1 tbsp

Directions

Squeeze your tofu to get the water out - I leave mine between two plates while I prepare everything else.

Mince garlic and scallion. Mix together soy sauce, hoisin, scallion, garlic and honey.

Pat tofu dry, and cut into slices/cubes/chunks as desired.

Mix marinade and tofu and let sit - I typically let mine sit for about 20-30mins, but it's really up to you.

Stir-fry until warmed through and beginning to brown/crisp - takes me about 10-15mins depending if there are other things in the pan.

I often serve it over brown rice, with mixed vegetables.

Makes two servings if divided evenly.

I loved this. The tofu was not as mushy as some recipes I have had in the past. I marinade was good as well. - 4/20/10

I tried this being new to tofu and not having a taste bud for soy sauce...however, to my surprise, it was very simple to make and tasted absolutely delicious! I let the tofu marinade for about 1 1/2 hours and served it over brown rice! Yum! - 2/6/08

Is there a way to do this without honey? I wonder what just leaving it out would do... think a sugar substitute would be a bad idea. - 9/18/14

This is really fantastic! So far, I have eaten this with broccoli and soba noodles and snap peas and brown rice. Such a wonderful flavor. - 5/10/12
