Introduction

This is just rice with green and yellow split peas. Makes boring rice fun! This is just rice with green and yellow split peas. Makes boring rice fun!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 cup uncooked brown rice
    1/2 cup green split peas
    1/2 cup yellow split peas (or red lentils)
    4 cups water

    Half of the rice can be exchanged with barley, or if you want more rice and less peas, you can play around with the amounts. Just make sure that the total amount of dry ingredients comes to 2 cups!


Directions

Add all the ingredients to a medium to large-sized pot, and turn on high heat to boil. Once boiling, turn down to medium-low heat, and cover, about 45 minutes. Keep checking it, and don't stir.

Makes 8 1/2 cup servings.
