Great recipe, but I had a few changes. Didn't have granulated sugar so I used 1/3 C brown sugar. Used Motts Natural Applesauce, didn't say unsweetened, but it was all I had. Used about 3/4 C mini chocolate chips. Additions- 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp real cinnamon and 1/2 C crushed walnuts. Delicious. Submitted by:

I love making these muffins. I have made them several times now. I use Splenda brown sugar blend instead of sugar (1/3 C) and the apple sauce instead of butter. Also add a little cinnamon. Going to try with whole wheat flour next time. Submitted by:

I have made this recipe four times in the past two weeks! My mother and boyfriend both love them! They are perfect pick me up snacks when you are feeling sluggish and don't want something high in calories, I have two for breakfast and it keeps me full longer than any other breakfast I eat! OMG! I was skeptical because I didn't think that a low calorie muffin could be satisfying. This recipe will be my go to any time that I have ripe bananas. Three words: easy, quick, tasty! Submitted by:

Banana chocolate chip muffins are a favorite at our home. Tonight we tried this recipe with 4 VERY RIPE bananas, Bob's Red Mill gluten free all purpose baking flour, brown sugar & canola oil instead of butter. The batter yielded 12 about 1/2 to 3/4ths full.

As they're baking right now, my hubby c

Doubled the recipe and it made 12 small (bigger than mini but smaller than the standard small)muffins and 9 mini-loaves. I only put a few choc chips in the loaves. Delicious and moist but will be seeing if I can cut down the sugar next time. By far the best banana muffin recipe out there. Submitted by:

This is simply delicious! Best banana muffin and the family love it ! I used Only 1/3 cup of brown sugar, used whole wheat flour and apple sauce instead of butter. The first batch the muffins stuck on the paper, on the second I lightly spayed with PAM and it turned great Submitted by:

I made these with the butter, not applesauce and white flour. I found that they were baked earlier than the recipe said and they were delicious. I discovered the button to makeover the recipe and now know how many calories mine has. Submitted by:

Awesome muffins!! So yummy and super moist with the applesauce. Who would guess they're lower fat/calories?!! I guess that means I can eat 2 then, right? This recipe is definitely a keeper. Submitted by:

Made these muffins with a few changes they were to die for so thank you. The changes I made were that I used SR gluten free flour, I only put a quarter of a cup of coconut sugar, and I used my apples from our tree and stewed them no sugar added to the apples everything else was to the recipe thanks Submitted by:

I made 12 regular-sized muffins (mostly because I only have one muffin tin!) and they turned out SO great! Put them in for 20 minutes and they're perfectly browned. I used Pure Via instead of sugar and also subbed the applesauce for butter. Definitely going to need to freeze these before indulging! Submitted by:

Just made these, made a few changes. Only added 1/2c of Sugar, switched out the egg for applesauce like the others. I added Blueberries since I had some extra & ground flax seed to the top before putting them in the oven. This receipe is great, chose it because I didn't have any milk! Submitted by:

Delicious. Just made 12 muffins instead of the 24, so calories are doubled, but still very close to 200 calories and that's ok! Submitted by:

These were so yummy, but I since I only got 12 regular size muffins (now 200 calories :( ) I'm saving the recipe but as treats. Thanks for sharing! Submitted by:

A very moist muffin with very good flavor - you could adjust the amount the chocolate chips to reduce fat. I used apple sauce. An excellent recipe. I use frozen bananas - make sure they are room temp before baking with them. Submitted by:

I just made these and they are delicious! I added an extra banana, only used 1/2 cup of sugar, added come cinnamon, and used mini chocolate chips! Submitted by:

These were really yummy, but there is no way I could get 24 muffins out of it! I only got 12 regular sized muffins, which means that the calories for a regular sized muffin would be 204, not 102. The "102" must be for muffin-top or mini-muffins. Submitted by:

I wanted to use my extra bananas so I searched for a recipe & found yours. YUM! I doubled the recipe and got about 30 good-sized muffins. However, I used butter (I was taking them to a neighborhood party), so it added a lot of calories to your healthier version. I ate WAY too many today. :( Submitted by:
