Banana chocolate chip muffins are a favorite at our home. Tonight we tried this recipe with 4 VERY RIPE bananas, Bob's Red Mill gluten free all purpose baking flour, brown sugar & canola oil instead of butter. The batter yielded 12 about 1/2 to 3/4ths full.

Doubled the recipe and it made 12 small (bigger than mini but smaller than the standard small)muffins and 9 mini-loaves. I only put a few choc chips in the loaves. Delicious and moist but will be seeing if I can cut down the sugar next time. By far the best banana muffin recipe out there. Submitted by:

Made these muffins with a few changes they were to die for so thank you. The changes I made were that I used SR gluten free flour, I only put a quarter of a cup of coconut sugar, and I used my apples from our tree and stewed them no sugar added to the apples everything else was to the recipe thanks Submitted by:

I made 12 regular-sized muffins (mostly because I only have one muffin tin!) and they turned out SO great! Put them in for 20 minutes and they're perfectly browned. I used Pure Via instead of sugar and also subbed the applesauce for butter. Definitely going to need to freeze these before indulging! Submitted by:

Just made these, made a few changes. Only added 1/2c of Sugar, switched out the egg for applesauce like the others. A very moist muffin with very good flavor - you could adjust the amount the chocolate chips to reduce fat. I used apple sauce. An excellent recipe. I use frozen bananas - make sure they are room temp before baking with them. Submitted by:

These were really yummy, but there is no way I could get 24 muffins out of it! I only got 12 regular sized muffins, which means that the calories for a regular sized muffin would be 204, not 102. The "102" must be for muffin-top or mini-muffins. Submitted by:

I wanted to use my extra bananas so I searched for a recipe & found yours. YUM! I doubled the recipe and got about 30 good-sized muffins. I made these muffins with a few alterations: I used four bananas, lowered the sugar to somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of a cup; I left out the chocolate chips and added walnuts to half of the batter. Delicious. used applesauce, whole wheat flour instead of oil and regular flour. Subd 3/4 c sugar for 1/4 c sugar and 6 truvia packets, which cuts the sugar base total to 1/2 c . Very Good! Very moist. I omited the salt and I used 2 egg whites. Also cut sugar down to 1/2 cup. I think I'll try all the sugar next time. I added cinnamon but won't next time.
