Yes they are very good. DH liked them. I used 1/2 sugar. applesauce and all purpose flour. After the fact the recipe could use Whole wheat.
There were too many substitutions in the recipe but now I will use the calculator. I do like being precise. DH loves them too. Pat in Maine.

Great recipe, but I had a few changes. Didn't have granulated sugar so I used 1/3 C brown sugar. Used Motts Natural Applesauce, didn't say unsweetened, but it was all I had. Used about 3/4 C mini chocolate chips. Additions- 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp real cinnamon and 1/2 C crushed walnuts. Delicious. Submitted by:

I love making these muffins. I have made them several times now. I use Splenda brown sugar blend instead of sugar (1/3 C) and the apple sauce instead of butter. Also add a little cinnamon. Going to try with whole wheat flour next time. Submitted by:

I have made this recipe four times in the past two weeks! My mother and boyfriend both love them! Banana chocolate chip muffins are a favorite at our home. Tonight we tried this recipe with 4 VERY RIPE bananas, Bob's Red Mill gluten free all purpose baking flour, brown sugar & canola oil instead of butter. The batter yielded 12 about 1/2 to 3/4ths full.

Doubled the recipe and it made 12 small (bigger than mini but smaller than the standard small)muffins and 9 mini-loaves. I only put a few choc chips in the loaves. Delicious and moist but will be seeing if I can cut down the sugar next time. By far the best banana muffin recipe out there. Submitted by:

Made these muffins with a few changes they were to die for so thank you. The changes I made were that I used SR gluten free flour, I only put a quarter of a cup of coconut sugar, and I used my apples from our tree and stewed them no sugar added to the apples everything else was to the recipe thanks Submitted by:

I made 12 regular-sized muffins (mostly because I only have one muffin tin!) and they turned out SO great! Put them in for 20 minutes and they're perfectly browned.
