Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    1 10oz can Cambell's Beef Consomme
    1 can of Water, tap
    12 oz Vadilla Onions
    1 tsp dried Thyme
2.2 oz beef sirloin steak, lean, grilled, small serving thinly sliced and chopped
    1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tbsp of Promise, Light Margarine

Directions

Prep meat - I used left over grilled Sirloin Steak (2.2 oz) thinly sliced and small chopped pieces.

Slice and chop onions, place in soup pot over medium heat with margarine and salt and thyme. When heated enough to sizzle, reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Once carmelation begins, add can of beef consomme, 1 can of water and beef. Raise heat to bring to boil, turn heat back down to medium and simmer 10 to 15 minutes.

Top with 1 piece of Melba Toast. (Calories do not include toast)

Each serving provides 1 vegetable, small protein amount and 1 carb

I use a low sodium or a no salt added broth. The low sodium is the best as you still need some flavor of the salts. Haven't put the beef in. The recipe I do is full of onion. We love it. - 1/30/19
