love it! if you have cavemen in your home who think that they are mega meat eaters, try grinding mushrooms up in your food processor and adding it to the chilli . It has the same texture as ground meat. - 8/26/08

My husband & I got in an argument at the store when I told him there was pumpkin in the chili (he's not a pumpkin fan) but he had 2 helpings & said it was the best chili he's ever had! So thank you for helping me cook healthier! - 10/4/10

I loved this chili! The pumpkin gives it a rich color, the chili is thick like I like it, and you can't taste the pumpkin. It seems so nutritious! - 5/14/09

This was fabulous! I didn't use plain pepper, though. I used cayenne pepper and it was plenty spicy that way! DH NEVER knew there was pumpkin in it and he LOVED this chili! It's possibly the best chili recipe we've tried- and it's a keeper!! - 8/28/08

I loved this Chili. I was hesitant at first because of the pumpkin but reviews were great so I thought i'd try it. I followed it to the letter (except used yellow peppers instead of green because that is what I had) and it was perfect. My husband even liked it and he doesn't usually like my chili - 11/23/10

I really like the taste of this chili! I was concerned when I threw everything into the crockput that it looked a little pitiful. After cooking on low for 6 hours, the taste is really good. The pumpkin adds a nice color, while the turkey soaks up the beef flavor. Easy to modify for your own tastes. - 11/11/10

This is DELICIOUS! I will make it so often. I swapped out some of the tomatoes for salsa, used carrots instead of green peppers, and substituted butternut squash for the pumpkin. I didn't know what chili beans are so I used black beans. YUM! - 6/2/09

I have been doing this for ever. Pureed carrots work well. Pumpkin was less expensive, not now though. Now I use carrots, they also disappear and thicken but cost less Cook up plenty of them and add them to soups or stews they work well for me. - 3/4/11

How much is in each serving? I just made this for dinner tonight, and when I first started putting it together I thought to myself "what I have done?" But then I got the spices added in and it was amazing. Next time I'm going to add some Jalapenio Peppers for some kick but other than that YUMMY! - 10/22/10

I loved it. I added cayenne pepper for a little more heat and instead of using bullion and water, I substituted fat free low sodium beef broth. Will also try adding jalapenos next time. - 2/10/10

I made this chili for a chili cookoff at work. I didn't win, but that's OK. I got to take home the leftovers, which made about three meals for me. It is good--but I think that I will experiment with the ingredients to suit my own taste. I prefer a more spicey chili. The pumpkin added a nice texture! - 11/4/09

A great flavor no sign of pumpkin once spices are added. It was more like a stoup than a soup. I increased water to 3 cups. this made 8 1 cup servings - 10/14/08

This is great! I made a batch for lunches this week with a couple of modifications based on what I had on hand and what sounded good.

I used frozen squash instead of pumpkin, 1 box. I also chopped up a jalapeno and tossed that in with the veggies and I added a tbsp of cocoa powder. Very very good

For those wondering about beef boullion alternatives, you can also get vegetable boullion. Knorr makes it, though it can be hard to find. Whole Foods usually carries one by Rapunzel, and many small organic/health stores sell it as powder in bulk. - 8/26/08

WOW!!! This had the perfect amount of spice and you could not taste the pumpkin at all. It gave it a thicker consistancy than most chilis, but it came out very well.

My husband loved it and never would have known it was healthy (or what was in it) if I wouldn't have told him.

Loved how the pumpkin thickened this! Made a double batch & brought it to a tailgate - everyone loved it & was amazed that there was pumpkin in it. I did add more spices & some cumin - but it still seemed to be missing something - maybe paprika? I'll hafta experiment the next time I make it! - 9/29/08

MAGIK0731-instead of beef bullion, you can use vegetable stock and omit the water. OR you can add a can of condensed cream of celery soup (or cream of mushroom) ALSO, they have garlic "bullion" cubes. - 8/26/08

I really liked this quite a lot and I didn't think I would. Lots of room for adjusting to taste. What really shocked me was that no one suspected the meat was turkey meat (I usually can and even I didn't notice it with this recipe). - 4/22/12

What a great idea...had a can left over from last year, so... and it will soon be time to stock up on this year's remnants, will get a few more, just for this and variations on it. But had to add a lot more spices and a couple of peppers (I can never seem to find tabascos, so had to use Hatch's...). - 8/26/08
