Introduction

Turn yogurt and juice into a seasonal treat. Serve these on Halloween morning for a fun & healthy breakfast treat! Turn yogurt and juice into a seasonal treat. Serve these on Halloween morning for a fun & healthy breakfast treat!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

6 ounces low-fat vanilla yogurt (1 small tub or 3/4 cup)
    1 cup orange juice
    1 cup pineapple juice
    Popsicle molds

Tips

Greek yogurt doesn't work well in this recipe; it's too thick. If that's what you prefer, thin the yogurt with a bit of milk until it's the consistency of regular yogurt.
To make these dairy-free, use coconut milk instead of yogurt.
If you don't have popsicle molds, use paper cups and craft sticks.

Directions

Carefully pour two tablespoons of yogurt into the bottom of your molds. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Pour the orange juice evenly into all the molds. Freeze for another 20 minutes.
Pour the pineapple juice on top of the orange juice.
Freeze until set.

Serving Size: Makes 6 popsicles

@Geckotreefrog: since you quote the glycemic index, you then know that the ingredients in this recipe breakdown much differently than your suggested candy as a comparison. It also won't cause the sugar spike/crash in your system either. This is a nice healthy alternative. Thank you for the idea - 10/29/13

If worried about calories or sugar, try using Trop 50 orange juice or classic orange Crystal light. I used sweetened plain yogurt, Trop 50 orange juice with calcium and diluted mango nectar (I didn't have pineapple juice). Daughter liked them which is all that matters. - 10/10/14

C'mon. To call this healthy is ridiculous. From a glycemic view, you might as well eat the candy, w/ a little bit of protein on the side. No wonder people don't understand what's healthy & what isn't.

Cute way to have juice with a smidgen of yogurt. But at 11g of sugar per pop. Too much sugar for me. I would rater have Greek yogurt ,top with some fresh fruit. - 10/10/14

It sounds yummy, but I think it would have too many carbs for me. The idea of Greek Yogurt sounds like it would help add more protein... - 10/27/13
