Introduction

This is a sensational sandwich that I had at a trendy little cafe in Michigan, while I was there visiting my family. Now I make it at home for my hubby and our friends for a brunch or for a quick, & interestingly delicious snack! Ingredients

    Bread, mixed-grain ( 7-grain), 2 slice
Red Ripe Tomatoes, 2 thin slices
    Havarti Cheese, sliced, 1 serving
    Basil, 2-3 leaves
    Butter, unsalted, 2 pats
    Honey (just a touch)

Directions

For one sandwich: Spread each slice of bread with a pat of butter, then spread with the touch of honey for sweetness. Fill bread with tomato slices, havarti, & basil leaves. Place in toaster oven until golden brown and cheese is melted. Another way is to place butter in a pan and grill the sandwich until golden brown & cheese has melted. Tastes divine!

My husband and I liked this recipe but we felt something was missing. So I added cooked chicken breast. Very filling. - 7/25/10

This is the same sandwich featured on Oprah and Gail's sandwich trip, to find the best sandwich during their trip. - 4/20/09

Yes, and I had it at the same cafe (in Royal Oak, MI, where I am from) that Gail visited, that is why I posted the recipe for everyone to enjoy! It was easy to make and a delicious sandwich, despite the calories. Enjoy! :)))))
