Introduction

A super easy to make 50-calorie cookie to satisfy your chocolate and peanut butter craving! A super easy to make 50-calorie cookie to satisfy your chocolate and peanut butter craving!
Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

1 box Devil's Food cake mix
    2 eggs
    1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
    1 pkg. peanut butter chips

Directions

Combine the cake mix, eggs, and applesauce. Add chips and stir. Drop onto lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10 min.

Note: the batter is very sticky, possibly due to just replacing the oil in a normal recipe. I used two spoons to form the cookies about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter and got around 30 cookies out of the recipe.

Serving size: 1 cookie

Number of Servings: 30

Sounds good but calories are off - The reason is calories are based ingreds. You've used just 1"serving" of Hersheys PB cups instead of 1 entire package of PB chips, as well as 1 "serving" of the Devil's Food Cake Mix, instead of 1 entire BOX as the recipe calls for.
This is why calories are wrong.

These are delicious, but I don't know where the 50 calories came from! I made them and even used egg whites, and its about 100 calories a cookie. And I got 40 cookies out of it so at 30 cookies + real egg, its over 100 calories a cookie. So don't be fooled, they are delicious but NOT low calorie! - 12/13/08

ELICIA11 - You have to understand that things get logged differently by different people. You perhaps logged something differently than I did. I got around 52 calories and now SP is saying 46. You just did something differently. Don't bash a recipe just because you get a different calculation.

as far as i can tell no one has bashed the recipe...the calorie count is wrong, but it's still a healthy alternative to eat in place of reg. cookies. they were amazing - 10/7/09

I made a batch with chocolate chips for my friend who's allergic to peanut butter and then the rest w/the peanut butter chips. I liked the 1st batch best. The were yummy fresh out of the oven but the next day way too crunchy. Also the batter ran together so they came out like really thin blobs - 5/18/09

The cookies were great, very easy to make. However some of my taste testers wanted more "something"... they could not put their finger on it.... low fat info is our secret. They also said that it tastes like cake batter, so I am going to work at making it taste less like cake... - 12/11/08

Loved these. Easy, and fulfilled my jones for peanut butter and chocolate. I'll have to put them into single-serving baggies so I don't eat a whole tray! - 6/4/09

This recipe is a keeper. I made these for my husband as a treat one evening and not only were they quick and easy, they were also delicious! I shared with coworkers the next day at work and they could not believe they were moderately healthy. As saidBeHappy0201 - use Pam cooking spray on scoop! - 12/5/08

I just made these & got 51 cookies using a cookie scoop. I wasn't able to find any of the ingredients in the calculator so I'm not sure what to use at the calorie count. I also found chilling the cookies between batches helps with the stickyness, & shots of pam on the scoop and tray. Fabulous! - 10/10/08
