Introduction

A quick-prep chicken breast recipe that gives a twist to basic barbecue chicken. I throw the chicken breasts in frozen, and serve this with baked potatoes. The sauce makes a great topping for the potatoes. To vary the flavor, try different types of barbecue sauce. A quick-prep chicken breast recipe that gives a twist to basic barbecue chicken. Can anyone tell me the serving SIZE? I made this and ate some already, so I can't go by that. I love this recipe, but need to know serving size. Also, is it REALLY only 243 calories??? - 1/17/20

    Bad
I'm giving this a low score because when I made it with the BBQ of my choice, it was nearly 500 calories. No where in here do you mention which one you use. I think you grossly underestimated your calories! - 8/26/19

This recipe was perfect! My husband gets home hours before me and he loved coming home from work finding this ready.
I found a bbq sauce that had Wocestershire sauce in it. I just mixed in some Ken's Light Options Italian.

I'm going to try this with liquid smoke rather than the W-sauce try to drop the sodium some (60 mg per tsp. vs. 10 mg per tsp.) --also going to be careful with the salad dressing and BBQ sauce I choose for it! - 1/11/14

This was very good, but the chicken did not need to cook 8 hours on high, closer to 6. It was a little too done the first time I cooked it and left it on closer to 8 hours. I shredded the chicken and made pulled chicken sandwiches. - 3/12/13

I cooked this today with leg quaters instead of the chicken breast because that was what was in my freezer. My family and me really enjoyed this. I had roasted potatoes and green beans with it. I put some left over sauce in a bottle to use later with another meal. Thanks for sharing. - 4/22/12

I thought this sounded good but was shocked at the amount of sodium. Over 1,000 mg! Hmm...will have to think on a way to lower the sodium a bit. - 4/11/12

Great! I shredded the chicken before I served it though. The sauce you use will also make a difference. I used Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ and it was wonderful!! If you normally like your BBQ spicy, this probably isn't the recipe for you. It's not sweet- just the perfectly balanced BBQ. - 4/3/11

This was great, very easy. The chicken was tender and perfect. I had to leave it on warm for a good three hours after the original six I cooked it and it turned out great. I cut up the chicken and put it on Pasta Roni. - 7/20/09
