Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
Directions
Preheat over to 375 degrees.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl, and put off to the side.
Beat butter, applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl with a hand mixer until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one is added. Slowly beat in flour mixture.
Stir in semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate chips with a spatula. Place rounded teaspoons of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet.
Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown. Let sit on cookie sheet for 1 minute, and then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Recipe yields 36-60 cookies depending on the size of the cookies made.
