Had these for dinner and they were delicious, even my carnivores loved them. Had these for dinner and they were delicious, even my carnivores loved them.
Number of Servings: 4


    4 Large Portabella Mushrooms, stems removed
    1/4 Cup Olive Oil
    2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
    1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
    1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder


In a gallon size ziploc bag, add all ingredients except the mushrooms. Close the bag and mix the ingredients. Open the bag and add the mushrooms. Reseal the bag and coat the mushrooms with the olive oil mixture. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 24 hours. Place on a hot grill for 5 minutes, turn and allow another 5 minutes.

Serve plain or add a slice of tomato or veggie 'cheese' .
Also steak sauce brushed on for the last 5 minutes of grilling adds a whole new dimension of flavor.

    We generally baste the mushrooms on the grill and use garlic salt (not the healthiest seasoning--but really tasty). If you start stem-side down and grill for 5 min, then flip, when the stem starts filling with juices you know the mushroom is cooked through. - 9/7/10

    I just brushed the olive oil on, only used a tbsp and switched the garlic powder to fresh minced garlic - the onion powder I switched to a little bit of left over pesto. Turned out very well - served with a massaged Kale salad - 11/23/12
