Ingredients

    4 servings

Directions

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
2 tsp. Onion Powder
1 tsp. each -
ground cumin
garlic powder
paprika
powdered (or regular ground) oregano
granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. tomato paste (optional)
3/4 Cup water

In a small bowl combine all seasonings. Add the optional tomato paste (I say it's optional because I can't tell a difference in the final product's flavor when the tomato paste is left out). Mix well. Add the mixture to 1 lb. of cooked, crumbled ground beef, combine. Add 3/4 Cup water, simmer approximately 8 minutes, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens.

**TIP**

For added convenience I pre-mix 3-4 servings of the seasoning mixture and store in the cupboard in an airtight, labeled container.

Each serving of mixed seasonings is the equivalent of 1 commercially prepared taco seasoning pouch, without the horrific amount of sodium.

Once you taste this you will not want to go back to using the commercial seasoning. Enjoy!
