Introduction

White rice a staple in every Cuban household and for my Cuban family it is no different. The garlic and olive oil in this recipe makes the rice so tasty, my children prefer to eat it first before tasting anything else on their plates. And then the always ask for seconds. Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 cup White Rice, long grain
    2 Cloves Garlic
    2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    1 tbsp Garlic salt, McCormic
    2 cups Water

Directions

Add all ingredients in a saucepan over high heat and cover.
As soon as it starts to boil, lower heat to simmer.
Simmer for 20-30 minutes until rice has absorbed all liquid. Fluff with fork and keep covered until ready to serve.

Serving Size: makes 4 servings

    !It soooo goood! Be careful with the garlic don’t let it burn. Simple things make this dish a new one, like adding parsley or cilantro. - 10/23/12
