Introduction

This is my version of a meat lover's lasagna with no egg or ricotta cheese. Serve it with a simple tossed salad and you'll be all set. I don't make it too often, but when I do...mmm, mmm, good! Ingredients

    2 lb Jennie-O 85/15 Ground Turkey
    1 pkg Johnsonville Chicken Sausage Three Cheese Italian (4 links)
    1 Ground Cayanne Pepper
    1 (28 oz) can Diced Tomatoes
    1 (15 oz) can Tomato Sauce
    2 (6oz) cans Tomato Paste
    2 tsp Italian Seasoning
    10 Lasagna Noodles
    4 c Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
    1 1/4 c Shredded Parmesan Cheese
    1/2 c Diced Onion
    6 tsp Italian Seasoning
    2 tsp Minced Garlic

Tips

add about 3/4 water if needed to loosen sauce


Directions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut chicken sausage into thin slices and cook with onions and minced garlic.
3. Brown turkey meat, italian seasoning, and cayanne pepper.
4. In a medium pot, add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Cook over medium heat until it starts to boil.
5. Stir in both meats to tomato mixture. Simmer low.
6. In a separate bowl, mix both cheeses.
7. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions,then drain noodles.
8. Using a 9 x 11 x 2 (or 9 x 13 x 2) inch baking pan, spread a layer of sauce to pan.
9. Put 4 lasagna noodles on top of sauce.
10. Add good layer of sauce on top of the noodles.
11. Sprinkle a nice layer of cheese to cover sauce.
12. Add another layer of 3 noodles, sauce, and cheese.
13. Cover cheese with remaining 3 noodles, sauce and cheese.
14. Cover with non-stick reynolds wrap. (or spray regular reynolds wrap with cooking spray.)
15. Bake for about 45 minutes
16. Let cool 15 minutes before serving.


Serving Size: Makes 15 1- cup servings
