Ingredients

    1 cup flour
    2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate melted
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 large egg
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1 tsp vanilla extract

Tips

If you don't have baking chocolate, you can substitue 1/4 baking cocoa powder + 2 tbsp unsalted butter.
Also, for a change of flavor replace cinnamon with 1/4 tsp almond extract.


Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside.
In mixer combine melted chocolate and sugar. Add egg and buttermilk. Add in flour mixture until combined. Spoon into greased and floured donut pan. Bake 10-15 minutes until tops spring back lightly. Cool on rack. If want sweeter, drizzle with powdered sugar icing ( 1/4 cup powdered sugar + 1 tsp milk
