Ingredients

    2 pkgs of Green Valley Raw Blackeyed Peas (equals 4 cups of peas).

    1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
    1 Tsp Salt
    1 Pkg of John Morrell Julienne Ham Strips, 96% FF, 227 grams
    4 Cups of Water

Tips

You may want to add a few drops of hot sauce or 1/2 tsp of dried peppers to recipe for a little punch. I serve this recipe with cornbread and additional warmed 98% FF Black Forest Ham slices for a warm hearty meal.


Directions

Rinse two pkgs of Green Valley Fresh Blackeyed Peas and then place the peas into a crock pot. Add one pkg of John Morrel Julienne Ham Strips, 1 tsp Salt, half a cup of chopped onion and 4 cups of water. Cook on high for 2 to 3 hrs. (My crockpot is new and cooks really hot, so I cook on low for same amount of time.)
Once veggies are cooked through, I turn crockpot on warm until ready to serve. Enjoy!
