Introduction

Ingredients

    Sausage
    Chicken breast
    Gumbo vegetables
    Canned tomatoes
    Chicken broth
    Flour
    Butter

Tips

I use fresh hot Italian sausage & remove it from the casing. I like to simmer for a few hours, can also use a slow cooker. I like to add Cajun Spices. You can also serve this over rice. I'm not sure exactly how much this makes, since it'll serve us for several days.


Directions

Crumble & brown 1 lb sausage. Meanwhile, melt butter in a Dutch oven or large soup pot. Whisk in flour and cook until brown. Whisk in 2 cans broth & heat until boiling. Flake canned chicken into pot (no need to drain). Add sausage and rest of ingredients. Simmer until veggies are tender, about a half hour. Add salt & pepper to taste.
