Ingredients

40 g yeast
250 ml lukewarm milk
75 g granulated sugar
500g flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
100 g room temperature butter (1 stick)
300 g Marzipan (almond paste)
30 g powdered sugar
5-8 tbsp Amaretto
Tips
You can always add nuts or raisins to the recipe and finish with a powdered sugar icing, as shown in the picture. However I think it is sweet enough without the icing.
Directions
Combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, 1 egg, & butter in food processor. Slowly pour milk in food processor until dough forms *might not need to use all of the milk*. Set dough aside to rise in covered bowl up to 1 hour.
Meanwhile separate 1 egg, beat egg white, set aside.
Mix egg yolk in a separate bowl with a splash of water, set aside.
Make Marzipan filling, mix amaretto, marzipan, powdered sugar, set aside.
Preheat oven to 420 degrees Fahrenheit
When dough has risen roll out using rolling pin a rectangle roughly 2 feet long by 10 inches wide.
Fold in beaten egg whites into marzipan filling, spread over dough, leave 1 inch bard on all the sides. Carefully roll dough lengthwise (looks like a rolling pin). Place rolled dough on parchment paper. Connect the ends to form a wreath. Cut top of dough with scissors diagonally. Baste wreath with egg yolk. Place in the oven for 20 minutes.
