Ingredients
-
1/2 onion, diced
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp basil
3 tbs white flour
1 cup 1% milk
1 cup chicken broth
2 cups diced ham
2 cups frozen peas, thawed
2 tbsp grated parmesan
salt to taste (depends on personal preference and saltiness of your ham and chicken broth)

Directions
1. Cook pasta according to package instructions and thaw frozen peas in microwave while you are making the sauce. Add the thawed peas to the pasta during last minute or so of cooking to heat them up. Drain pasta and peas and return to pot.
2. Heat oil in saucepan on medium high heat. Add onions, mushrooms and basil and cook until mushrooms release their liquid.
3. Add flour and cook for 1 min. Gradually add milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly. Cook over medium to medium high heat, stirring often, until sauce thickens (about 10 minutes).
