Just something I whipped up on a winter's day when cold egg nog wouldn't do. Add more instant coffee, or brew a real espresso, if you want more coffee flavor. Ingredients

    1.5 cups light egg nog
    2 tbsp sugarless Dutch cocoa powder
    1 tsp instant coffee

Tips

If you don't find light egg nog in your store, you can halve the amount of egg nog and use water instead. If you do, increase the cocoa powder and coffee to ensure a strong flavor.


Directions

Heat egg nog in microwave for 3 minutes in a large mug. Stir in 2 tbsp sugarless Dutch cocoa powder and 1 tsp instant coffee (or more, or espresso, as suits you). Stir very well, or whip in a choclatiére if you have one. Tastes just as decadent as any drink the Mermaid might offer you, with a lot lower calorie hit per ounce.

Serving Size: Makes 1 large mug of warm egg nog mocha.
