Ingredients

    1 Pound Pinto Beans (washed and sifted)
    12 cups water
    1 large onion chopped (about 2 cups)
    1 medium Jalapeno, diced
    1.5 tsp ground cumin
    1.5 tsp salt
    3 tsp minced garlic
    10 cranks of black pepper from a pepper mill

Tips

The longer you leave it the more tender the beans are and the less water you have to drain.


Directions

Put pinto beans, chopped onion and jalapeno, minced garlic, cumin, salt, black pepper, and water in large crock pot and cook on high for 8-10 hours. Drain excess water and mash beans, add water as needed to attain consistency desired.
