Ingredients

    3-4 Large Stalks of Celery
    4 Large Carrots
    1 Large onion
    1 Cup Bacon or Bacon Ends
    1 Ham Bone
    1 and a half pounds of Lentils
    6 Cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth
    4 Cups Water
    2-3 Bay Leaves
    Salt and Pepper to Taste

Tips

serve with crusty bread and butter, or a nice side salad.
freezes well, and the ham bone can be used for another stock or soup.


Directions

Chop celery, carrots, and onions. sautee them lightly in the slow cooker on high until onions are slightly translucent.

Then add lentils, ham bone, bacon, water, chicken broth, bay leaves and salt and pepper.

slow cook for 6-7 hours or pressure cook for 45-60 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes approximately 19-20 1 cup servings.
