Ingredients

    4 quarts water
    2 cups sugar

    1 cup hibiscus flowers

Spice packet - items listed below
    1 cube crystallized ginger
    1/2 cinnamon stick
    1 tsp orange peel

Loose leaf tea bags. Put the spice packet in one and it will take two for the hibiscus flowers. I doubled the bags to make sure the ingredients don't get into the pan.

Tips

You can add more water to dilute the strength.
Serve over ice, with a slice or orange or lime, or with a sprig of mint.
Try adding club soda, lemonade, or any of your favorite beverages to your tea.
Hibiscus tea freezes well and can be a delicious frozen treat.
You can add hot water again to your strained flowers to make another batch. It won't be quite as strong, but it will still be good.

Directions

place 2 quarts water, sugar and contents of spice packet in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the hibiscus flowers. Cover and steep 15-20 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor will be. Strain and chill.
