Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 1/2 c all purpose flour
    2 c rolled oats
    1/4 c sugar
    4 tsp baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp sale
    1 medium apple, cored and shredded
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c butter or margarine, melted
    1/3 c milk

Tips

I use 1/4 c each butter and smart balance. Good warm or cold. If covered, leftovers are good for a few days - but you probably won't really have to worry about that!


Directions

Mix all dry ingredients together. In separate bowl, whisk egg until frothy, then stir in milk and melted butter.

Toss apple shreds in dry ingredients to coat, then add wet ingredients to dry. Stir to make a soft dough.

Pat out into two 6-7" rounds on a greased cookie sheet. Score each into 6 wedges.

Bake at 425F for 15-18 minutes, until risen and browned. Enjoy warm.
