Introduction
This is a variation to the cream cheese danish recipes I've seen online..this one has been in our family for over 25 years...it was named Val's cream cheese danish because a dear friend, Val, passed on her "secret" recipe. It's been modified over the years, using low fat ingredients, but, by all means, use full fat and GO FOR IT! :) This is a variation to the cream cheese danish recipes I've seen online..this one has been in our family for over 25 years...it was named Val's cream cheese danish because a dear friend, Val, passed on her "secret" recipe. Ingredients
-
2 Pkgs Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
2 Pkgs Cream Cheese (I used Greek)
1.25 Cups Sugar
1 Large egg yolk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp Vanilla (the real stuff)
Cinnamon
Tips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Again you can use full fat crescent rolls, regular cream cheese (this recipe is calculated with the listed ingredients and is really good!). Enjoy!
Directions
Spread one package of crescent rolls onto the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Cream together the softened cream cheese, vanilla and 1 cup of sugar...add the egg yolk, blend well. Spread mixture on top of the crescent roll bed. Cover the mixture with the other package of crescent rolls. Pour the melted butter on top. Mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with as much cinnamon as you like and sprinkle on top. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. YUM!
