Ingredients
-
1/4c Sugar
1/8c Sugar
1/4c Cake Flour
3 Egg Whites (large, room temp)
1/2t Cream of Tarter
Dash of Salt
1/2t Vanilla Extract
Tips
If you dont have cake flour, you can measure the 1/4 cup, then take out 1/2T and replace that 1/2T with Cornstarch.
What makes angel food so fluffy is the egg whites, you want to make sure to fold in the remaining ingredients (not stir) so that you don't deflate the air that you worked so hard to get. ;)
Directions
Preheat oven to 450F
Sift 1/8 cup of Sugar and the Flour together 3 times.
In a separate bowl, mix Egg Whites, Cream of Tarter & Salt until soft peaks form. Then add 1/4c Sugar and mix until stiff peaks.
Fold in the flour mixture carefully. Then fold in Vanilla carefully.
Pour batter into ungreased pan (I used 6"x8"). Bake for 25min or until medium golden brown on the top & a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving Size: 4 1/3-cup cubed
Number of Servings: 4
