Ingredients

2.5 lbs ground turkey 93% lean
2 packages Eckrich Skinless Turkey Smoked Sausage
45 oz Ragu Traditional pasta sauce
50 oz Gia Russa tomato sauce
    1 cup chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic
1 can mushroom stems & pieces

    3 tbsp sea salt
    1 tbsp black pepper
    1 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp Smart Balance Cooking Oil (by SNOOPYMOWING)
    2 tsp white sugar

Tips

Stir in some shredded Italian blend cheese for 5-cheese pasta sauce.

Add fresh tomatoes toward the end of simmering for a pop of fresh flavor.

Mix leftover sauce with short pasta such as rigatoni, ziti or fusilli, top with shredded mozzarella and bake for 30 minutes for a quick meaty pasta bake.

Directions

1. Saute ground turkey, chopped onion and garlic in cooking oil until lightly browned; season with salt and black pepper.
2. Cut up smoked sausage into 1/2-inch slices then in half.
3. Drain excess oil from meat and add pasta sauce, tomato sauce, sausage, mushrooms and olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and sugar to taste.
4. Let simmer for 3-4 hours.
5. Boil your favorite long pasta and top with sauce. Garnish with grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.
