Ingredients

    1 lb Extra lean ground beef
    1 medium onion, diced (about 1.5 c)
    1 medium green pepper, diced (about 1.5 c)
    2 plum tomatoes, diced (about 1.5 c) or 1 can
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp italian seasoning
    1 tsp oregano
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1 can pinto beans
    1 6 oz can tomato paste
    3 cups tomato juice
    3 cups water
    1 tsp unpacked brown sugar
    8 oz whole grain pasta, medium shells





Directions

Brown ground beef and drain, then add onion, green pepper, tomatoes, garlic, and spices to pan with the beef. Stir and cook for a couple minutes, add beans. Mix the tomato juice, water, tomato sauce, and brown sugar together and add to the beef & vegetable mix. Cook 15 minutes. Add the dry pasta and cook 15-20 minutes or until tender. Add more water if it gets too dry.
