Introduction

I use lentils, ground chuck and homemade taco seasoning to make my own filling taco meat. I use lentils, ground chuck and homemade taco seasoning to make my own filling taco meat.

Ingredients

    3/4 cup Lentils
    9.7 oz Ground beef, extra lean (15% fat) pan broiled
    2 tsp Chili powder
    1 tsp Garlic powder
    1 tsp Argo Cornstarch
    .5 tbsp *McCormick ground cumin (by CHGOMOMMA)
    1 dash Salt
    .5 tsp Pepper, red or cayenne (optional)

Directions

Mix seasonings together with cornstarch and set aside. Cook lentils according to directions. Mine was 1 cup lentils to 4 cups water 25-30 minutes. I only had about 3/4 cup left, so that's what I used. Drain after cooked and set aside.
Brown ground chuck. drain. return to pan with lentils. sprinkle seasoning mix and add 1/4 c water. Bring to boil, then remove from heat. Liquid will be absorbed while it cools.

Serving Size: makes about 26 1 oz servings
