Ingredients
-
1 lb Turkey, Butterball Ground Turkey 93% Lean
1 medium Onions, diced
1.5 tsp Garlic, minced, jar, great value
1 Med. Green Bell Pepper, diced
1/2 tsp Pepper, black
1 can Great Value Diced Tomatoes no salt added, undrained
2 cup Swanson Cooking Stock Beef unsalted
1 can Hunt's Tomato Sauce, no salt added
1 tbsp Sauce, Soy, Low-Sodium
2 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 1/2 Great Value Instant Brown Rice (dry)
1 cup Great Value Sharp Finely Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 can Great Value No Salt Added Sweet Peas
Directions
In a medium skillet brown turkey, onions, garlic and green peppers over medium-high heat. about 7 minutes until veggies are soft. Drain off the fat.
Reduce heat to medium and add tomatoes, beef stock, tomato sauce, soy sauce and Italian seasoning. Stir until well combines. Bring to a boil.
Add uncooked rice and peas. Bring back to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes.
Remove lid and sprinkle with the cheddar cheese. We actually like it better mixed in but it is however you prefer. Let sit for about 5 minutes with the lid on so the cheese melts.
