Introduction

Adapted from SkinnyMs.com's recipe. Adapted from SkinnyMs.com's recipe.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 tbsp + 2 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup finely chopped red onions
    1 cup cooked quinoa
    1 cup cooked brown lentils
    1 tsp Chili powder
1/3 cup Quaker Oats Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
1/4 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour
    2 teaspoons Cornstarch
    1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
    1 tsp Garlic powder
    1/2 tsp Cumin (ground)
    1 tsp Paprika
    Salt and pepper to taste

Tips

The original recipe called for a 4 oz. can of green chilies. I didn't have any, so I subbed chili powder. I think the chilies would be better. They are also a little bland for my taste, so I would add more spices next time.

Directions

Combine all ingredients except olive oil, form into 4 patties, fry in olive oil about 5-7 mins on each side, depending on the heat of your pan.

May freeze burgers before cooking.

Serve as you would a hamburger on a bun, or on a plate smothered with sauteed sweet pepper and onions.

Serving Size: 4 burgers
